This originated from seed gathered in California by a friend. I put the name on it. It appears to be a species as seed comes up true. It is similar to chamaedryoides but darker in flower and twice the size plant meaning it can grow to about 75cm high. The leaves are grey and flowers blue. It layers somewhat and makes a good border plant. It is a real basic plant everyone should have.
‘Marine Blue’ is frost and drought hardy and could be sheared or whipper snipped to shape if using it as a hedge.
It grows fine in sub tropical conditions and probably prefers full sun.
A popular plant whose availability varies.
