HISPANICA

Salvia hispanica cropped

This species is the source of the chia seed which has become a ‘wonder food’ in recent years. It is more often known as rhyacophylla in Australia. It is an annual plant to a metre or so with blue flowers inclined not to stand up well in southern Australia. Most of the seed sold  in health food stores should grow if you wish to try it.

I do not stock hispanica or rhyacophyllla.
