Blancoana is very close to officinalis and could easily be mixed up. It is also very close, in appearance, to the recently introduced ‘Chateau Cathare’. Buyer beware of getting the right plant! The oil properties could be different. The flower is a pretty light mauve.
The foliage is grey which immediately signals sun and good drainage. A lot of grey plants tend to have one section die out usually because of heat and water which can then be cut off and ignored. Cold is not a problem. Not much other pruning will be required.
Plant will grow about 50-80 cm high and spreads lightly.
Not always in stock, most likely in spring.
