An imported variation of pineapple sage which most people list as salvia rutilans
but has been changed to salvia elegans.
If you like coloured foliage ‘Golden Delicious’ is a good addition to the salvia range.
In the sun the foliage will be bright yellow. The plant will probably get around the 1m mark (I haven’t had it long enough to know its ultimate size.
Plants that do not have all green foliage often don’t grow so big as they don’t absorb as much sun.) Like the old pineapple sage it will frost
burn below –2C and is not real drought happy. Established plants can be slashed to the ground in spring if desired.
